Lesson 4: Creating Pricing Templates and Deals

We understand that some of your Buyers will be on existing pricing deals and others on set deal structures. With only a few clicks we make it easy to accommodate both arrangements.

Pricing templates allow you to manage product discounts and special deals. Each of your pricing templates can be applied to Buyers by state (by default), to individual Buyers or to groups of Buyers.

Creating & Editing Pricing Templates

  1. Go to 'Pricing templates' found on the left-hand sidebar of the platform under 'Pricing'
  2. Select an existing template to edit or click 'Create template' in the top right-hand corner and under the ‘Name’ give your new template a name
  3. Scroll down to the ‘Product pricing’  list where you can:
    1. Change the 'Template Pricing' - Buyers assigned to this template will only see this List Price. Handy for creating different price books by state
    2. Apply % discounts per product - Buyers assigned to this template will see this List Price as a 'strike-through' and will know they are receiving a discount
    3. Enable deals on products as part of the template (see Configuring Deals below)
  4. Click the ‘Select customers’ tab to choose which customers this template will be applied to.
  5. In the top right corner click ‘Create’ to publish your new pricing template

Tip: You can set a template to be the default for all new Buyers by assigning it in New connections (existing connections will still need to be added manually)

Configuring Deals

Within each pricing template, you have the opportunity to add deals. There are a few guidelines to keep in mind when configuring deals:

  • You can have multiple deals within each template
  • You can apply the same deal across multiple products (to create a 'mix & match' option for your Buyers)
  • You cannot have more than one deal enabled per product, per template
  • Connections cannot be assigned to more than one template at a time but can be moved around by you freely

Under the 'Configure deals' tab, you can choose to create either a:

  • Volume deal (e.g. buy 10+ products and receive 10% off those products at checkout)
  • Plus deal (e.g. buy 5 products, get 1 free - when a Buyer has this deal enabled and adds 6 applicable products to their cart, the cheapest line item will become free at checkout).

Once you have configured your deals, be sure to head back to 'Product Pricing' to enable the deals on each product you wish to apply them to!

Customer Pricing

This is another way to apply custom pricing to specific Buyers.

  1. Click the ‘Pricing’ tab on the left-hand sidebar and then ‘Customer pricing’ in the drop-down
  2. From your list of connections select the Buyer you want to update pricing for and the pricing page will appear
  3. In the top right-hand corner, you can manage and apply a specific ‘Pricing template’ for the selected Buyer
  4. In the top left-hand corner, you can manage and apply a specific ‘Freight template’ for the selected Buyer
  5. Scroll down to Product pricing’ to apply specific deals on individual SKUs for the selected Buyer
  6. Once you are happy with your changes click ‘Save changes’ in the top right corner
